Essex Police/Fire: No one hurt in boat retrieval

---- — ESSEX — Local officials, representatives from the U.S. Coast Guard and town firefighters all responded to a boat that began to sink around 10:30 a.m. off Main Street.

Police said the boat measured about 19 feet, but that no fluids leaked into the water and the boat was not fully submerged. The owner was contacted and the boat was retrieved and brought to Perkins Marine; there were no injuries.

Police received a report of suspicious activity Monday around 9:30 a.m. A Cogswell Court woman told police a motorist in a grey vehicle was taking pictures of her home.

Police said they identified the car’s owner, but could not make contact with him.

A man on Main Street was taken to Beverly Hospital at 1:26 p.m. Monday.

Police called the American Automobile Association Tuesday around 9:30 a.m. after a woman on Lufkin Street had locked herself out of her house and her car.
