Gloucester Police/Fire: Teen tied to violent incidents faces new charge

A 15-year-old boy already involved in four violent incidents and facing two juvenile felony charges — all since Jan. 1 — was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon at 9:42 p.m. Wednesday, according to Gloucester police.

According to police, the teen, who lives on Willowood Road, was charged following a fight with an 18-year-old woman who was walking on Smith Street with several friends.

According to the 18-year-old, the boy came up to her on a skateboard and began punching her, leaving her with marks on her face and neck.

The police report indicates that the boy's mother drove up during the conflict, and nearly hit the girl with her car while yelling at her to stop fighting with her son.

The boy then allegedly began kicking the girl until his mother pulled him off.

The dangerous weapon in the charge refers to his shoe, police sources said. The mother was not charged.

Melissa Combs, 24, of Patriots Circle, was arrested on a charge of driving on a suspended license at 12:13 a.m. Thursday.

According to police, Combs was driving on Rogers Street when a patrol noticed a defective headlight on her car.

Combs, however, pulled into the police employee parking lot and police thought she was trying to hide from them. It was then that the officers ran Combs' license plate and discovered that her license had been suspended, according to the police report.
