Officers arrested a Gloucester woman at her home on charges of domestic assault and battery after she entered a former boyfriend’s apartment and allegedly assaulted both him and another woman.
Police responded to the apartment on Lepage Lane at 7:54 p.m for a report of an “unwelcome guest.”
A man at the residence said the woman, identified as Alice Nelson, 56 of 7 Elizabeth Road, had entered the residence and assaulted him and a woman with whom he lives.
Police found Nelson at her home and arrested her without incident.
Police dispersed a group of 12- and 14-year-olds from the former Maplewood School Wednesday at 4:45 p.m after a Maplewood Avenue resident called to report that “kids” were throwing rocks and glass at her granddaughter outside her house on Acacia Street.
When officers arrived, they found the youths had thrown rubble from the school into the Acacia Street house’s pool. Police told the kids to leave; there were no charges filed.
Firefighters responded to a blaring fire alarm at an Ocean Street residence at 8:23 p.m. Wednesday. The department, however, found no fire and allowed residents back into the building.
A Summer Street resident called police at 5:41 p.m. on Wednesday and said she thought someone had been in her house.
She reported finding towels missing and items in the home had been re-arranged. She said she had changed her locks three times in the last five years.
Police responded to reports of kids shooting BB guns at Cedar and Pleasant Street at 9:33 p.m. on Wednesday. Police didn’t find any kids or BB guns when they searched the area.
Police received a report at 2:20 a.m. Thursday about water pouring from City Hall. Officers found that a hose on the scaffold had been left on and turned it off.
