A story on Wednesday’s Taste page, “Harvard’s cookbooks speak of our history,” contained two errors.

“De Conservanda Bona Valentudine” was not the first British cookbook; it was Italian, written in Salerno. Harvard’s copy of “American Cookery” by Amelia Simmons was published in 1808. Only 10 anchovies should be used in the recipe for Walnut Catchup.
