Town Talk: Manchester kicking off flushing project

Town Talk

Manchester’s Water Department will start flushing the town’s water mains Monday, meaning that residents can expect some issues with their water service while the work is going on.

Town officials are warning that, during the flushing process, running water will become discolored and residents may want to avoid washing clothes when the water is brown. Residents should run the cold water in faucets for a few minutes until it clears.

Hydrant flushing will take place in the evenings between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. Monday through Thursday until completed om about four to six weeks.

The flushing starts on Upper Pine Street, and will end on Raymond Street.
