Essex Police/Fire: Police track down erratic operator

ESSEX — Police responded to a report of an erratic operator on Route 133 Saturday around 7:30 p.m., and found the alleged vehicle in question in a driveway on Winthrop Street.

Police cleared the scene, and there were no charges filed.

Police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Main Street Saturday just past 3 a.m. on Main Street.

The caller told police about three teenagers attempting to break into trucks, then ran off toward Gloucester, according to police. Officers checked the area, but could not find anyone when they arrived at the scene.

The harbormaster’s office issued a warning to a boater on the Essex River for allegedly speeding in a no-wake zone Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
