Gloucester Police/Fire: Video brings teens to swim in quarries

A YouTube video is bringing visitors to Gloucester but not to local spots where they are welcome.

On Monday about 4:44 p.m., police escorted a group of kids from Woburn out of the Klondike Quarries where they were swimming and told them not to return.

An officer said the kids told police they had seen a video of people doing the same on YouTube, and did not know they were breaking the law by trespassing there.

Mark D. Groves, a 24-year-old homeless man who lives in Gloucester, was arrested on Prospect Street on two warrants after an officer recognized him Monday about 4:15 p.m.

Peter G. Luoni was also arrested on Prospect Street, near the Main Street intersection, after being recognized by a patrolling officer on Tuesday morning. Luoni was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
