Manchester Police/Fire: Police chase camper from Manchester woods

MANCHESTER — A man driving southbound on Route 128 on Friday called police to report a man camping in the woods, telling police at 6:30 p.m. that he saw someone in the woods with a tent and a fire.

An officer found the man and told him to extinguish the fire and be on his way.

A Summer Street resident called police to report several cars idling on the street Saturday at 11:46 p.m. When police arrived, they spoke to a neighbor who was moving cars around on his property.

A Summer Street resident reported a dog in the roadway at the intersection of Summer Street and Magnolia Avenue Sunday at 10:23 a.m. Officers were unable to locate the dog.

Another resident on Summer Street reported a cat in the roadway through a 911 call. When police arrived Sunday at 2 p.m., the cat had moved.

Police called the MBTA after finding that the Beach Street railroad gate was stuck down. The MBTA restored the gate in five minutes at 4:13 p.m.
