Going back to 1775

MANCHESTER — Resident Larry Young, a history re-enacting musician, took pupils at Memorial Elementary School back to 1775 and gave them a taste last week of what Revolutionary-era life was like for children.

In a program titled "Manchester Alive in 1775," he taught them period dances, games, discussed era-specific music, household chores and clothing, too. Here, kindergartners learn a dance.
