Rockport PTO fundraiser next Saturday

At the Shalin Liu Performance Center on Main Street next Saturday, April 27, the Rockport Parent Teacher Organization will host its annual Black and White Gala and Auction.

The event starts around 6:30 p.m. and is expected to end around 11 p.m.

Some of the items this year include vacation packages, theater and musical performances, artwork and much more. Ticket prices are $45 each, or $75 for two tickets.

State Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr of Gloucester will be the guest auctioneer.

Discussion focuses on foreclosure prevention

Mortgage modifications, abusive lenders, mortgage scams, refinancing and much more will be part of a presentation about foreclosure prevention.

The presentation is set for Thursday, April 25, at 6 p.m. at the Rockport Inn and Suites, 183 Main St..

The free event is sponsored by the Rockport Community Preservation Fund, Neighborhood Legal Services, Cape Ann Homeownership Center of the Gloucester Housing Authority, Neighborhood of Affordable Housing, the City of Gloucester Community Developments Grants Office and others.
