---- — ESSEX — A South Hamilton man stopped on Eastern Avenue for a marked lanes violation just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday is facing a drunken driving charge as well.
Edmond Shehaj of 589 Essex St., Hamilton, was charged with both a marked lanes violation and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
Police issued a criminal complaint against a Gloucester man Friday after he was pulled over around 10:30 p.m. for an invalid inspection sticker.
Mark Heckman, 39, is also facing a criminal complaint for driving with a suspended license, his vehicle was towed.
Police responded after a caller said that three teenagers were launching fireworks near Essex Elementary School Friday at 10 p.m.
Police said that, when the Essex teenagers were stopped on Story Street, they denied being at the school. Police then gave the kids a ride home, and one was issued a civil citation for possession of marijuana.
A Main Street man said his foot slipped off of the break pedal while driving down Main Street, causing him to drive into business Saturday around 5:30 p.m., according to police. There was no significant damage to the car or the business.
A deer was reportedly struck on John Wise Avenue Friday around 1:20 p.m.; the deer died and was removed from the area, according to police.
Friday around 9:15 p.m., police said somebody returned a lost debit card; officers returned it to its rightful owner.
Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance on Pond Street, but officers found it to be a verbal disagreement and there no charges filed.
