Manchester Police/Fire: Beverly driver charged after crash

Manchester Police/Fire

MANCHESTER — A 21-year-old Beverly driver is facing a drunken-driving charge in the wake of a two-car 2 a.m. accident Saturday on the northbound side of Route 128 near the Gloucester line.

Kim Ottinger of Beverly was formally charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol.

Massachusetts State Police Lt. Daniel Richards said there were only minor injuries in the crash, which happened about a half mile north of Exit 15. Police said Cross Towing arrived to removed the vehicles.

Saturday at 11 a.m., police and firefighters responded to an odor of gas coming from a Bennett Street home. Responding firefighters, however, said there was no odor when they arrived.
