Three men were arrested over the weekend, and each faces a charge of assault and battery on a woman.
Francis Green, 47, of Centennial Avenue was arrested when police responded to a 911 call from a woman in the home. The woman told police that Green had grabbed her arms and “threw” her into a chair because he was angry that she had guests in the home.
Police observed scratches on the woman’s arms, and arrested Green on the assault and battery charge.
Thomas D. Jayroe Jr., 31, was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery, malicious property destruction and witness intimidation, after he allegedly struck a woman in his Webster Street home, then took and smashed her phone so she could not contact police Saturday afternoon.
Jayroe is accused of slapping the woman’s face four times after an argument over his addiction to heroin and suboxone. When officers arrived at the scene, they say Jayroe told them, “I slapped her in the face.” Police noted that the woman’s face was “visibly swollen and red” and saw a small laceration near the woman’s eye.
Before arresting Jayroe, police recovered the woman’s smashed smartphone and returned it to her. She told officers the phone’s screen had been undamaged when Jayroe took it, bringing the malicious property destruction charge.
Robert M. Olsen, 54, was arrested outside of his Walker Street home Sunday about 10 p.m., after police spoke with a woman who said Olsen slapped her face and pushed her to the ground.
The woman told police Olsen had been drinking and the two were arguing when he hit her. She said he then took her vehicle keys and left in his own vehicle. Police met the woman at a parking lot off Route 128, and they noticed her bottom lip was swollen and she was “visibly upset.”
