Essex Police/Fire: Police probe theft of boat equipment

Essex Police/Fire

Gloucester Daily Times

---- — ESSEX — Neighbors of a Western Avenue property called police about suspicious activity on Sunday.

At 2:26 p.m., police said neighbors noticed boat trailers missing from the property, and said that metal had been cut out of the boats themselves.

Police Chief Peter Silva said the thefts are now under investigation; police were unsure as of Monday who owns the vacant Western Avenue property.

The boats are now lying on the front yard without trailers, Silva said.
