Rockport Police/Fire: Residents hear chainsaws

ROCKPORT — Several South Street residents called police at 1:30 p.m. Thursday to report hearing chainsaws in the area.

Police said they responded and searched the area thoroughly, but there was nothing to be found.

Residents on Beach Street reported a transformer was sparking at 7:15 on Nov. 22. Police notified National Grid, which responded and addressed the problem.

At 9:40 on Friday morning, wires went down on Bearskin Neck, police notified Verizon about the issue.

A South Street resident was transported to Beverly Hospital at 11:33 on Friday morning.
