GLOUCESTER — A 9-inch long bone found on Good Harbor Beach at the water’s edge Tuesday about 9:52 a.m. has been sent to a lab for testing, according to Gloucester Police.
Officers photographed and picked up the bone after a man saw it on the beach, according to police. Officers were unable to decipher whether the bone was human, according to police.
A 43-year-old Gloucester woman was arrested on Prospect Street and faces charges including giving a false name, driving with a revoked license and failing to stop at a posted “stop” sign.
According to city police, an officer stopped Kimberly A. Stewart, 42, of Veterans Way after she failed to stop at the sign posted at the intersection of Prospect Street and Main Street, according to police. Stewart initially told police she had forgotten her license and gave police the name of her girlfriend, along with the other woman’s social security number and birth date, claiming the information as her own.
Police were able to get Stewart’s real name when her girlfriend arrived on scene.
Police said that because Stewart was a “known drug user,” and was acting strange, a K9 unit was called to the scene. The police dog searched her vehicle, but found no trace of narcotics.
A Lawrence woman reported 30 Oxycodone pills taken from her purse during a party she attended at a Rhumb Line on Railroad Avenue Saturday between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
According to police reports, the woman said on Tuesday that she had noticed the pills missing from her purse on Sunday morning.
Police advised two Lloyd Street neighbors to call police if they saw anything suspicious after the neighbors both reported holes from BB gun pellets in the windows of their houses Tuesday.
Police checked the houses about 12:40 p.m. and said the holes in the windows would be “consistent with a BB gun pellet.” Police also noted that a fence at one house was broken, and that there were tire marks in the stone driveway that might have been created by the person who created the holes in the windows.
A 23-year-old Gloucester man was arrested on a warrant after police saw him walking on Maplewood Avenue Tuesday about 3:20 p.m.
Police said an officer recognized Anthony Q. Bergmann of Church Street, and, after running his name, arrested him on a warrant.
