Merchants offers food, discounts to men Thursday night

Last week, Thursday night in Gloucester was for the ladies. This week, it’s the guys’ turn.

Tomorrow night is the 38th annual Men’s Shopping Night, hosted by downtown merchants, a holiday evening designed especially for men’s shopping needs. More than 54 stores will be open until 8 p.m., with many providing refreshments and special offers and discounts. With every item purchased, men will receive a free entry to a $1,500 shopping spree.

The last day to enter the shopping spree drawing is Dec. 19. Santa will draw the winning ticket at 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, as part of the First Family and Friends Night, when downtown stores again will be open late; restaurants will offer free desserts or appetizers.

Carolers will be strolling Main Street.
