Manchester: Summer Street closed for sewer repairs today

MANCHESTER — Summer Street will be closed around No. 87 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today for sewer work.

Detours will be set up at Summer and Lincoln streets directing all inbound traffic down Lincoln to School Street, police said. Detours will be set up Summer and Brook Street directing all outbound traffic down Brook to Norwood Avenue and back to Lincoln Street.

There will be access to both Manchester Essex Regional High and Middle and Memorial Elementary schools, and there will be police officers directing traffic and electronic sign boards will be in place.

The Police Department said in a release that it hopes traffic problems will be insignificant.
