2013 Gloucester High School Graduation Awards

This is a partial list of awards given to members of the Gloucester High School Class of 2013. More of the list will be published as space becomes available.

Awards and Scholarships

Tigers Youth Organization Scholarship

Awarded to graduating seniors with at least four years participation in the Tigers Youth Organization who have shown need of financial assistance and have been accepted to a school of higher education.

$100 each — Carlo Joseph Cracchiolo, Lorenzo Luis Gonzales, Sara Marie Kenyon, Nicholas Joseph Lucido, Santo Lucas Parisi, Ariana Ferrara Puopolo and Leonardo Taormina III

Alge & Agnes Vaitones Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a graduate of Gloucester High School who has participated in extracurricular activities and plans to pursue a career in business, international business, economic development or similar program and has been accepted into an accredited two- or four-year college.

$250 — Noah David Mondello

Varian Semiconductor Equipment Associates Inc. Scholarship Award

Awarded to a deserving male graduate and to a deserving female graduate based upon excellence in math and science.

$3,000 each — Derek Grant Buckley and Katherine Rose Ciaramitaro

Awarded to a deserving graduate based upon excellence in vocational studies.

$3,000 — Ryan James Whittemore

Anthony J. Verga Leadership Award

Awarded to a graduate of Gloucester High School with good academic credentials who has been accepted to an accredited school of higher learning and who displays leadership qualities and actively participates in programs within the community.

$750 — Christine Elizabeth Anderson

Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States of America Scholarship (Sponsored by The Doucette-Lingard Post No. 1624)

Awarded to a student who is a family member or a relative of a veteran from any of the Armed Services and who has written an essay on “What would you suggest should be done to make a better America?”

$500 each — Lilly Anna Anderson, Lorenzo Luis Gonzales, Hannah Ellis Grimes, Winslow T. Powers, Zachary Miles Smith and Samantha Leigh Wayrynen
