2013 Gloucester High School Graduation Awards

This is a partial list of awards given to members of the Gloucester High School Class of 2013. More of the list will be published as space becomes available.

Awards and Scholarship

Veterans’ Memorial School PTO Scholarship

Awarded to a graduating senior with participation in community service activities who has attended Veterans’ Memorial School and has been accepted at an accredited school for higher education.

$500 — Isaac T. Randell

Angela A. Vitale Scholarship

Awarded to a Gloucester High School graduate of Italian heritage who has been accepted at an accredited two- or four-year school or college and who has exhibited financial need.

$400 each — Santo Lucas Parisi and Katerina Marie Russo

West Parish School PTO Scholarship

Awarded to four graduating seniors, two boys and two girls, who have attended West Parish Elementary School and have been accepted at an accredited school for higher learning.

$250 each — Marlee Jean Melvin, Jake William Parisi, Derek Milton Rodgers and Katerina Marie Russo

Arthur and Harriett Wright Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to help a student in financial need to get a better economic foundation toward an education. The recipient must have demonstrated consistent patterns of industrious behavior, positive attitudes, character and fortitude and have exhibited concern for the needs of others and qualities consistent with those of self-made individuals.

$500 — Kimberly Shea Foster

School Committee Scholars

Top five percent of the graduating class (in alphabetical order) — Katherine Rose Ciaramitaro, Pauline Alisson Cruz, Melody Rae Eaton, Nathan Samuel Frontiero, Jenna Rose Fulford, Jacob Herman Holscher, Nicholas Paul Miles, Danielle Lee Pomeroy, Winslow T. Powers, Hannah Marilyn Sweet, Julia Adrienne Verga and Kathryn Margaret Withers

Awards presented prior to Senior Awards Night

Boston Globe District A Scholar-Athlete Award (Female)

$3,000 — Sophia Elizabeth Black

Cape Ann Amateur Radio Association 2013 Scholarship Award

$250 — Ian David Richards

Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

Awarded to a member of the graduating class who intends to pursue studies in the field of business and who has demonstrated satisfactory scholarship.

$1,250 — Peter Daniel Mondello

Sylvester “Red” Deering Scholarship by the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce

Awarded to a member of the graduating class of Gloucester High School who plans to pursue studies in the field of business or the trades.

$1,250 — Megan Marie Marchant
