Gloucester police: Aide stole patient's drugs

Gloucester Police/Fire

A home aide employed by Action Inc. faces criminal charges of stealing prescription medication, after police said she admitted taking oxycodone from an elderly patient’s home to fuel her addiction.

Deborah E. Nicastro, a 55-year-old who lives on Orchard Street, was assigned to clean the woman’s home, but began stealing her pills, police say, when her other avenue of obtaining drugs closed.

Police say Nicastro faced other drug charges recently, including “doctor shopping”. She had been seeing multiple doctors as a patient in order to bring home large quantities of oxycodone to feed her addiction, police say, but her primary care doctor banned her from the practice after learning this.

Frederick K. Loomis, 49, was arrested on a court warrant at his Prospect Street home Monday about 11 a.m. Police brought Loomis directly to court after booking him.

Salvatore Chisari, a 46-year-old Jacques Lane man, was arrested on a charge of drunken driving after an officer said he noticed a taillight on his vehicle was out, then saw his vehicle cross Hammond Street’s center line multiple times.

Chisari failed four field sobriety tests and his blood alcohol level tested at 0.13 after he was stopped Tuesday just after 1 a.m., according to police. He also faces charges of marked lanes violation and driving a vehicle with a defective headlight in addition to the drunken driving charge.

A man who holds a spot on Revere’s 10 most wanted criminals list was arrested in Gloucester on Monday about 11 p.m.

Police received information that Rocco Cunsolo was traveling on Willow Street. An officer found and recognized Cunsolo from his mug shot on the most wanted list as he exited a vehicle there. He claimed his name was Andrew, but police found paperwork in his pocket with the name “Rocco Cunsolo.”
