---- — ESSEX — Police said a tree limb on Soginese Road was the cause of arching power lines Wednesday at around 8:15 a.m.

Police said the Fire Department and National Grid were notified and responded to the scene.

Police said there were reports of debris found in John Wise Avenue Tuesday around 3:21 p.m. Police said the Massachusetts Department of Transportation was notified, and managed to track down the owner, who cleaned up a majority of the debris.

Police filed a report after a resident phoned around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday when a baseball struck their car, which was parked near Town Hall and the adjoining Memorial Field baseball diamond.

Police said the baseball left a dent; the owner is in the process of getting a damage estimate.

Police conducted a well-being check at 11:22 a.m. Tuesday on a Hill Road resident. Officers who responded said that everything was secure.

There were two false burglar alarms Tuesday, one at 9:30 a.m. on John Wise Avenue. The other occurred at 10:24 p.m. on Centennial Grove Road.
