Essex Police/Fire: Driver cited in downtown Essex accident

ESSEX — A man driving on Main Street at 1:29 p.m. Tuesday failed to yield as he turned into a parking lot and collided with another vehicle, Essex police said Wednesday.

No one was injured, but the turning car was towed and the driver cited for failure to yield, police said.

A fire alarm that went off at a Western Avenue business at 9:09 p.m. Tuesday was caused by a faulty detector, police said. There was no fire at the location, fire officials reported.

A case of graffiti was reported off Centennial Grove Road at 8:24 p.m. Monday. Police are investigating; no further information on the incident was available Wednesday.
