Rockport Police/Fire: Hit and run accident reported

ROCKPORT — Police took a report of an alleged hit-and-run accident Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.

According to police, a woman reported that her car may have been hit while parked on Jerdens Lane, but the alleged accident could have also happened near Whistlestop Mall, she said. Police said there was damage to the rear bumper of the car.

Police also assisted a motorist who was locked out of a car on Jerdens Lane at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Police and firefighters responded to a carbon monoxide detector sounding off on Granite Street Wednesday at 1:30 p.m.. Police found it to be a false alarm.
