New issue of Cape Ann on newsstands today

Fall in love with the latest edition of Cape Ann, North of Boston Living, magazine, available Friday on newsstands.

Highlights include:

Making a splash: Manchester’s Nat Faxon went from winning a declamation prize at Brookwood School to acting with the L.A comedy troupe The Groundlings. Then he cowrote a script that won him an Oscar, and now he’s in front of and behind the camera in one of the summer’s hot movies, “The Way Way Back.”

Island travel: Affordable fares and a four-flight make the Azores an enticing vacation. And like Cape Ann, this ancestral homeland of many locals fights to balance economic growth while staying authentic.

Writing and publishing: While the Gloucester Writers Center nurtures wordsmiths of all kinds, a growing group of locals are finding success through self-publishing.

The fall 2013 edition of Cape Ann, North of Boston Living, also features:

A light in the dark: One of Cape Ann’s original Fresnel lens has returned to island, finding a home at the Cape Ann Museum.

Three decades of creation: The Cape Ann Artisans group celebrates their 30th anniversary, plus a preview of the members’ open studio tour.

All this and more in the latest issue of Cape Ann, North of Boston Living. Have an idea for an upcoming edition? Contact editor Andrea Holbrook at 978-283-7000 x3456 or aholbrook@gloucestertimes.com.
