Rockport Police/Fire: Dog triggers motorcycle crash

ROCKPORT — Police said a loose dog was the cause of a motorcycle accident Wednesday on Thatcher Road.

According to police, the dog ran out in front of the motorcycle around 6:30 p.m.

The motorist successfully swerved to avoid the dog, but lost control of his bike and sustained minor injuries.

He was transported and later released from Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester; police said the dog escaped unscathed.
