Rockport Police/Fire: Man facing DUI

ROCKPORT — Police arrested a Rockport resident Saturday at 5 p.m. for driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to keep in a proper lane.

Michael Rowe, 45 of Kitefield Road, was arrested on Main Street after police received reports of an erratic operator.

Saturday at 1:50 p.m., police said there was a report of a distressed surfer on Long Beach.

By the time emergency responders arrived, police said the surfer was already on shore. There were no lifeguards stationed at Long Beach at the time.

Police said Saturday at 7:30 p.m., two residents were arguing on Marmion Way about a land dispute. Officers said the people were spoken to, but no charges were being sought.
