'Sailing' into spring

Skaters ready for show with sailing theme

The Cape Ann Figure Skating Club’s 39th annual skating show on Saturday features the theme “Set Sail.”

And most of the roughly 50 members, ranging in age from 3 through 60, carried out their dress rehearsal Wednesday, performing skating routines set to musical selections depicting cruise ship destinations as they will Saturday night.

The show will be held at the Dorothy Talbot Rink in Gloucester, on Saturday at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door; children under 5 are free.

Guest skating during the performance will be the Imagica Adult Theatre-On-Ice Team from The Skating Club of Boston, which also includes local skaters Doug Grimes and Theresa Lee of Gloucester.

Featured club soloists in the show will include Amanda Greel, Laura Budrow and Meghan Tupper of Rockport, Alexandra Arnaud, Jenna Lake, Johanna Couture-Porcaro, and Amy Petralia of Gloucester, Kayley Wright and Annabelle Haskell of Essex, Samantha and Kimbery Way of Beverly, Natalie Schoonover of Ipswich, Ella Stanwood of Hamilton, and Brooke Warshafsky of Boxford.
