Essex Police/Fire: Wires arc on Eastern Avenue

Essex Police/Fire

ESSEX — Police spotted arcing wires on Eastern Avenue and Harlow Street at 12:47 Friday morning. National Grid was contacted and fixed the problem.

A Winthrop Street woman called the station about harassing phone calls Thursday at 6:41 p.m. Police said the woman reported the issue as a possible restraining order violation, but she just wanted the information recorded.

Police performed a well being check on Island Road on Thursday around 4:30 p.m. A vehicle had been parked on the street for several days; police said the car’s owner has a relative who owns property in the area.

Just before 3 p.m. Thursday, suspicious activity was reported on Western Avenue. Police said it may have been somebody examining a house for sale.
