Rockport Police/Fire: Driver hits horse stable

ROCKPORT — Police responded Tuesday at 1:30 to a report that a vehicle had backed into a horse stable on Jerdens Lane.

Police said there was no damage to the horse stable, but that the vehicle’s rear window was broken. Police said the two parties exchanged information, but there were no charges filed.

Around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, police diffused a verbal argument on Kite Field Road.

At 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, firefighters were dispatched to a smoke detector sounding on Jewett Street, but responders found it to be a false alarm.

Police received a report at 5 p.m. Tuesday that a dog had bitten a resident on South Street. Police notified the animal control officer.

Wednesday morning just before 7:30, police assisted a Main Street resident off the floor.
