ESSEX — A single-car crash on Belcher Street early Tuesday sent the driver to Beverly Hospital, though police said the man’s injuries were not life-threatening.

Police responding to a report of suspicious activity in the area of Belcher Street came upon the accident Tuesday at 12:43 a.m.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
