Manchester Police/Fire: Holiday brings noise, alcohol incidents

MANCHESTER — Raymond Street was a hot spot for police on the Fourth of July.

A group of adults walking along the street holding open containers of alcohol were spotted by police at 10:40 p.m. Thursday, the Fourth of July.

Police made them pour out their beverages.

Officers also confiscated some fireworks after a noise complaint on the Fourth around 9:30 p.m.

Police patrolled the Raymond Street area later in the night with an eye out for more fireworks and other problems.

Officers found a kitten inside a car on Butler Avenue on Thursday at 6:15 p.m. Police are investigating.

There was a hit-and-run accident on Forest Street around 6:30 a.m. Thursday is under investigation.

Police dispersed a group of divers Friday at 8:45 a.m. for causing a traffic jam on Ocean Street by getting in and out of their scuba gear.

Friday at 12:22 p.m., an erratic operator was reported to be towing a boat on Route 128 southbound. Police checked the area but could not find anyone.

Police asked a car be moved on Summer Street around 4 p.m. Friday after somebody called to complaint about it blocking the roadway.
