Essex Police/Fire: Party goes inside

ESSEX — Police responded to a report of suspicious activity on Winthrop Street Wednesday just after 1:30 a.m.

Police said officers spoke with people who were having a party, but simply told them to go inside, and they complied.

Police said they received a report of a suspicious person Wednesday at 10:45 a.m. Officers searched the area, but could not find anything.

A fire alarm on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. on Main Street was set off by burnt food, police said.
