---- — Gloucester’s state senator has been awarded a new title.
It’s Blackstone Valley Junior Ranger and Senate Minority Leader Bruce Tarr, now.
The new title was bequeathed by Senate President Pro Tem Richard Moore, an Uxbridge Democrat.
As is the case in other national parks, the Blackstone River Valley National Heritage Corridor allows interested visitors to become junior rangers. While Tarr, a Republican, did not complete the series of activities students can undertake to earn the junior ranger badge, he has spoken highly of the region of south central Massachusetts, as did the former Senate Minority Leader Brian Lees, according to Moore’s office.
Moore, who Tarr has sometimes dubbed the High Commander of Health Care and the Pharaoh of Federal Mandates, bestowed the honor and badge on Tarr during Thursday’s informal Senate session.
