Nine cars were broken into sometime Monday night or Tuesday morning, some downtown and the others in Magnolia.
Police said items taken from the cars ranged from a GPS, the most expensive item reported stolen, to loose change to a baseball hat.
Three vehicles on Laurel Street were broken into. In addition, four vehicles on Commonwealth Avenue, a vehicle on Tidal Cove Way and a vehicle on Gibbs Road were reported to have been broken into.
Police said that in the vast majority of the incidents, the vehicles were unlocked.
Police have no suspects or witnesses in these cases.
In other incidents:
Police investigated a minor motor vehicle accident at the corner of Rogers and Main streets at 5 p.m. Monday. There were no reported injuries, and the fenders of both vehicles were damaged.
Police were called to a Friend Street apartment at 9 p.m. Monday on reports of a fight. When police arrived, the resident told them he and a friend got into a fight while watching the World Series. Both declined to press charges.
A water break on Thompson Street was reported to police at 6:20 a.m. yesterday. The Department of Public Works fixed the problem.
A Veterans way woman was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital by rescue squad at 8:40 a.m. yesterday with a back injury.
