Arrests

A 35-year-old Gloucester woman was arrested on drug charges Monday after a police officer reportedly witnessed her participation in a drug deal on East Main Street at 4:44 p.m.

Alisha M. York, of 90 East Main St., was charged with illegal possession of heroin, intent to distribute heroin, and sale of drugs in a school zone.

Officers intercepted York after the drug deal was made and seized $731 in cash; she reportedly confessed to the charges during an interview at the police station. Bail was set at $10,000.

As a result of York's arrest, police also received tips on the whereabouts of Roland M. Parsons, 35, who was arrested at 5:24 p.m. Monday at his 7 Bass Ave. apartment on two warrants stemming from charges of heroin possession and speeding while operating a vehicle with a suspended license, police said.

Luis Alves Dasilva, 29, of 35 Cleveland St., was arrested for operating a motor vehicle without a license at 1:32 yesterday afternoon. Dasilva was also wanted on two warrants, police said.

Incidents

An employee of Shannah Montessori School, 21 Lexington Ave. in Magnolia, reported vandalism at 10:23 a.m. yesterday.

Vandals reportedly tossed playground equipment around behind the school, damaging some of it. The employee told police the damage was done sometime over the weekend.

Police responded to Sadler Street at 9:35 p.m. Monday in response to a report of two men fighting. One of the men involved left before police arrived and peace was restored.

Fire report

Rescuers transported an 87-year-old Foley Road man experiencing difficulty breathing to Addison Gilbert Hospital at 3:08 a.m. yesterday. Rescuers also transported women from Anchor Lane and Church Street to the hospital yesterday morning.
