Councilor hosts forum on plans for Hampton Inn

Ward 3 City Councilor Steve Curcuru is holding a neighborhood meeting Monday night at Gloucester High School on plans to build a Hampton Inn on the west bank of the Annisquam River just north of Cape Ann Marina.

The meeting is 7 p.m. at the high school lecture hall.

Curcuru said the developers of the project, Caulk Management Co. of Maryland, requested the meeting to hear the sentiments of neighbors before entering the next step in permitting the project.

Caulk had originally wanted to build a hotel in Blackburn Industrial Park, but encountered resistance to rezoning land there for such a project.
