A 60-year-old Gloucester man was cited for a marked lanes violation as a result of his involvement in a two-car crash on Washington Street Thursday night.
Joseph A. Goodick, of 111âÑ2 Knowlton Square, was turning right onto Washington Street from Madison Street when his Ford Mustang crossed the center lines and struck a Jeep being driven east on Washington Street by a Gloucester woman.
No one was injured in the wreck, but both vehicles had major damage and had to be towed from the scene. In addition to the $100 fine for the marked lanes violation, Goodick was also assessed a $35 fine for failing to have his license in his possession.
Authorities determined a King Philip Road man found deceased on his kitchen floor by his estranged wife at 6:43 p.m. Thursday died of natural causes.
A Gloucester man was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital after he drove his Dodge SUV up onto a large granite wall on Cherry Street at 5:45 Thursday night. The man was confused as to what happened when rescuers arrived. The Dodge Dakota was towed from the scene.
A CATA manager reported that the driver of an 18-wheel truck with New Hampshire plates failed to stop and exchange information with a CATA employee yesterday morning after he reportedly drove the truck into the CATA vehicle's side mirror while both were traveling north on the Route 128 Extension. Police noted the mirror was broken as a result of the contact but officers were unable to find the 18-wheeler.
A Tally's employee reported yesterday morning that Christmas lights were stolen from the Washington Street business some time after midnight.
A Magnolia woman told police at 10:36 a.m. yesterday that her van was hit from behind while she was driving through Grant Circle on Thursday night. The woman told police she did not get a description of the vehicle that hit her.
Police responded to the corner of Perkins and Mt. Vernon streets yesterday afternoon on a 911 call reporting a woman screaming and spitting at people. Police spoke with the woman in question and convinced her to stay inside and calm down. Peace was restored.
