ESSEX — An officer was needed at 2:05 p.m. Thursday to help direct traffic around a vehicle with a flat tire.

A woman called 911 at 4:40 p.m. Thursday from Town Farm Road because she couldn't open the door to get into her house. An officer was able to get the door open.

There was a report of a hit-and-run accident on John Wise Avenue at 5:40 p.m. Thursday. No damage was found on the vehicle.

At 11:02 p.m. Thursday, there was a burglar alarm activation on John Wise Avenue. Police found the door was left open.

An officer making rounds spotted vandalism at a business on John Wise Avenue at 1:58 a.m. yesterday. There were broken windows and items knocked over.
