A disturbance at a Commonwealth Avenue address was initially reported as a man being stabbed, but ended at 11:36 a.m. Monday with a woman being transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital after a suicide attempt.
Detectives said the initial report had been incorrect, and that no fight had occurred at the address.
The woman is recovering from her wounds, according to police.
A 19-year-old Cobblestone Lane man was taken to Addison Gilbert Hospital after police found him in the hallway of an Addison Street home at 2:01 a.m. Monday.
Officers responded to the address after a building resident reported an intruder.
According to police, the man was found sitting on the stairs in the hall of the building, screaming and clutching his head.
Police had the man transported to the hospital, and reported finding marijuana, alcohol bottles and rolling papers in the man's possession.
The man was issued a summons for disturbing the peace, but was not arrested.
A fire alarm that went off at 7:10 p.m. Sunday at the Action Inc. shelter on Main Street was caused by food cooking on the stove. No one was harmed and no damage was done to the building, police said.
A Forest Lane resident reported hearing gunshots at 10:05 p.m. Sunday, but when police searched the area, they found nothing.
An Essex Avenue man came into the police station at 11:15 a.m. Monday to report that he was receiving threatening text messages.
While police advised him to seek a restraining order, the man received another message. Police determined that it was not threatening, but did advise him to speak with the court to seek the order.
