Twelve applications for historic preservation, affordable housing, and open space projects will go before the city's Community Preservation Committee this month.
The proposers of projects, worth $590,000 combined, are seeking about $319,000 from the Community Preservation Act fund, said CPA Committee co-chairwoman Sandra Dahl Ronan.
The Friends of Good Harbor Gateway project asks for $250,000 in CPA money as part of a funding package to purchase the Brier Neck Crossing site on Thatcher Road.

The city's Historic Commission applied for $100,000 to update and expand the city's existing historic inventory and recommend properties to the National Historic Register.
The Open Space and Recreation Committee requested $15,000 for appraisals, surveys and draft acquisition documents for several parcels in Dogtown.
Gloucester's Community Development Department applied for $60,000 to create affordable housing incentives aimed at keeping units affordable for 15 years, and increasing the city's percentage of affordable housing units.
The Rocky Neck Art Colony applied for $150,000 to purchase the Christian Science Church on Wonson Street for use as a cultural center.
Maritime Gloucester has asked for $20,300 to restore the Mill Building at its marine railway.
The Niles Pond Conservancy has asked for $40,000 to hydro-rake the pond and clear out some invasive plants.
The Phyllis A. Marine Association seeks $25,415 to continue repairs on the fishing vessel Phyllis A.
The North Shore Arts Association applied for $15,000 to replace windows on the Thomas E. Reed Building.
The Lanes Cove Fish Shack Building Committee has requested $20,000 to repair the fish shack.
The Cape Ann Museum has requested $20,000 to begin digitizing 300 sets of architectural plans from Philip and Holloran.
The Magnolia Historical Museum has asked for $15,000 to hire a curator to digitize the museum records.
