ROCKPORT — Police arrested a Rockport man after he was stopped near his Jewett Street home Wednesday just before 10:30 p.m.

Police said 39-year-old Jason Modugno was stopped for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and had an invalid inspection sticker.

Police gave an elderly Marshall Street resident a ride home Thursday after reports came in that a man, seemingly confused, was seen wandering in some woods nearby.

Thursday at 8:15 a.m., police said a wire was down on Beach Street, the cable company was notified.

Wednesday around 1:45 p.m., police said a female Pigeon Hill Street was transported to Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester.

There were multiple fire and burglar alarms sounded off Wednesday, all of which proved to be accidental or false alarms.

The first came at noon on West Wharf Road and the second was reported at an Eden Road residence around 4:40 p.m., while the last sounded at around 6:30 p.m. on Straitsmouth Way.
