County Attorney says officer justified in shooting suspect

CONCORD, N.H. (AP) - A preliminary investigation by the Merrimack County Attorney's office has cleared the officer who shot and killed a Loudon man in September after the burglary suspect allegedly lunged at him with a knife.

Merrimack County Attorney Dan St. Hilaire and state police Col. Fred Booth said yesterday the shooting of Clyde Gauntt, 54, by Concord police Sgt. Cori Casey appears justified based on the evidence collected to date.Read this article in full with a
