ROCKPORT — The Fire Department responded to a Sheehan Terrace residence Tuesday after a carbon monoxide detector inside the home activated at 12:38 p.m. Firefighters measured carbon monoxide levels at 63 parts per million (ppm) inside the home, then ventilated it. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the average background level of carbon monoxide in homes is between 0.5 to 5 ppm.

r A vehicle was towed from King Street by Sandy Bay Service on Tuesday because its owner had accrued several unpaid parking tickets, police said.

r Rescuers transported a McKay's Drive man to Addison Gilbert Hospital in Gloucester on Tuesday morning.
