Incidents

Windows were broken in three cars, and a boat had graffiti written on it amid a string of vandalism incidents reported yesterday.

According to police, a door on the Abigail Miller — a 65-foot boat docked at Rowe Square — was spra-painted sometime overnight Thursday. The boat's crew, which was in town assisting with an off-shore construction project, was able to get most of the graffiti off with paint thinner, according to the police log.

Police were also investigating reports that a witness saw a group of youths on board the vessel on Thursday night. The incident was reported at 12:09 p.m. yesterday.

Earlier in the day, a handful of residents also reported finding their property damaged. A Washington Street woman reported at 5:06 a.m. that the back window of her car had been smashed.

At 9:38 a.m., a Langsford Street resident called to say that the back window of his Dodge Caravan had been broken, while two minutes later, someone reported a shattered window in a Jeep Grand Cherokee parked on Holly Street.

A 10-year-old boy hurt his ankle while jumping off a bridge at Good Harbor Beach yesterday afternoon. Rescuers were called just before 2 p.m. The boy was taken to Beverly Hospital for treatment.

An Elm Street woman reported her dog stolen at 2:31 p.m. yesterday.
