A teenager who flattened the tire on her car by driving into a curb while under the influence of alcohol will lose her license for at least 210 days.
Jayna N. Lafontaine, 19, of 180 Western Ave., was yesterday given the 210-day license suspension in Gloucester District Court by Judge Joseph Jennings, who continued a charge of driving while under the influence of alcohol without a legal finding for one year.
She was also ordered to pay $250 to the head injury fund, a $250 fee, a $50 OUI victim assessment and $50 to the Victim-Witness Assistance Fund.
She was found not responsible for a marked lanes violation.
According to the police report, Lafontaine admitted to being behind the wheel when her car hit a curb on Western Avenue in the early morning hours of July 11. They found her near her car, and one of her friends in the process of changing her flat tire.
The tire had a one-inch hole in it, according to police.
Lafontaine failed a field sobriety test, the police report states. Her blood alcohol level was later measured at .08, the legal limit for adults, but four times the limit of .02 for anyone under the lawful drinking age of 21.
Failing the blood alcohol test cost her another automatic three-month license suspension, the police report noted.
He was charged with going to a former co-worker's house, pushing him to the ground and punching him until the man's eye was nearly swollen shut. Now, William H. Aaron Jr., 38, of 41 Madison Ave., must spend the next eight months on probation, and pay $50 to the VWF, after being found guilty of assault and battery.
Judge Jennings presided over the case against Aaron in court yesterday.
The victim told police that Aaron came to his house one evening in March and assaulted him. He said he didn't know why Aaron attacked him, but mentioned to investigators that Aaron had been calling and harassing him and his fiance.
Aaron told police that the victim was the one who had been calling and harassing him.
The two had worked together on Aaron's fishing boat in 2003.
The victim, Sten H. afKlinteberg III, 37, of 47 Parker St., Apt. 3, was also charged with assault and battery, according to court documents.
