Police: Father and daughter were selling marijuana from home

Raid yields 2 pounds of drug

HAVERHILL — Police said they broke up a family drug-dealing operation when they raided a River Street home and seized 2 pounds of marijuana worth $4,400 on the street.

Police said they used a search warrant at 1151 River St. Thursday night, and arrested five people — among them three members of the family living there. A father and his 20-year-old daughter were selling the marijuana from the home, police said.

Arrested were:

Alan Richardson, 51, who lives at the River Street house. He is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, distribution of marijuana and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Samantha Richardson, 20, also of that address, faces the same charges.

Christopher Richardson, 22, also of that address. He was charged with possession of steroids. He is the son of Alan Richardson, police said.

Miguel Perez Jr., 28, who police said is Samantha Richardson's live-in boyfriend. He was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Walter Gould, 62, 44 Old Ferry Road, who is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. He was in the house buying an ounce of marijuana when the raid occurred, police said.

"They had been selling marijuana there for a while,'' said police Sgt. John Arahovites, who participated in the raid. "People were coming and going from the house. The father and daughter were selling it.''

Police said they also seized $1,420 in cash, syringes, steroids, packaging material, a grinder used to prepare the drugs for sale and a scale.

Six officers participated in the raid, which happened about 6:30 p.m. The house is on River Street, Route 110, just west of Interstate 495.

The people arrested were arraigned in Haverhill District Court yesterday and had future hearing dates set.
