ESSEX — The Essex Youth Commission has planned a night of frightful fun for all ages on Halloween.
For trick-or-treaters, the party starts at Essex Elementary School at 4 p.m. with a parade down Winthrop Street and through Chebacco Terrace, with stops for trick-or-treating.
The parade will end at Town Hall, where there will be pizza and juice for $3 as well as games and hayrides. Bring a flashlight for a surprise game at the end and bring carved pumpkins to light on the hill. The festivities will end around 6 p.m. so kids can continue trick-or-treating around town until 8 p.m.
In case of bad weather, the festival will be held indoors at Essex Elementary School starting at 5 p.m. Call the EYC after noon Friday at 978-768-3414 to check on the plan.
For kids in grades 6 through 12, the EYC will be offering a trip to Monster Golf in Danvers. For $20, kids will be taken by bus to an 18-hole glow-in-the-dark miniature golf course and be given pizza and drinks.
Arcade games will be available at the course, so those going on the trip are reminded to bring extra money. The bus will leave from Town Hall at 7 p.m. and return around 10 p.m. Registration forms, which are due Thursday, can be found online at the EYC Web site, www.essexma.org/eyc, and can be turned in at Town Hall or Essex Elementary.
