'Hatteras Hotel' filming now

Hollywood back in Rockport

ROCKPORT — Filming of "Hatteras Hotel," the third movie to film scenes in Rockport this year, began this week when the crew transformed the Rockport Police Station into the Boston Police Department on Monday. On Tuesday, the independent, England-based production shot several scenes inside the station's community and locker rooms, booking area, and cell block.

The film tells the story of a Boston police officer, played by Wade Williams (FOX's "Prison Break"), who grows tired of city living and decides to finish out his career in the fictional community of Salem Harbor, portrayed by Rockport. The man becomes sheriff of Salem Harbor and is faced almost immediately by the mysterious case of an upper-class teenager who is found dead after a night of partying at the Hatteras Hotel, portrayed in the film by the Emerson Inn By the Sea.

Filming continued yesterday at T-Wharf and the Unitarian Universalist Church. Scenes are expected to be filmed at the old police station on Monday and inside the Emerson Inn starting in December.
