Three charged with assault after fight over parking

ESSEX — Police have filed charges against three people involved in a fight on Lakseshore Drive that sent two of them to the hospital.

The three are:

Douglas Elliot, 65, of 525 Joy Haven Drive, in Sebastian, Fla., who faces charges of assault and battery, and threatening to commit a crime.

Sharon Elliot, 35, of 525 Joy Haven Drive in Sebastian, Fla., charged with assault and battery.

Mark Anasoulis, 21, of 148 Sylvan St. in Danvers, charged with assault and battery of an elderly person, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Douglas Elliot and Anasoulis were both taken to Beverly Hospital for injuries sustained during the May 7 fight. They were both treated and then released.

Police received word of the fight from a neighbor who dialed 911 at 8:21 p.m.; she told police one of the parties had threatened to use a weapon.

The brawl began after an ongoing parking dispute reached a boiling point.

The Elliots have property at 40 Lakeshore Drive and were blocked from their driveway by a vehicle belonging to a resident at 38 Lakeshore Drive. Anasoulis had been staying at 38 Lakeshore Drive.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

Anasoulis was arrested after he was released from the hospital the evening of May 7 on an unrelated, default warrant out of Gloucester District Court. He was arraigned Monday.
